A lovely silver Pill / Trinket Box. Circular in shape, the box has the most beautifully enamelled hinged lid, featuring a gorgeous pastoral scene including a lakeside view of mountains and trees and a wonderful sunrise. The guilloche enamel gives the scene an almost 3D effect so that the sunrise is producing rays - a wonderful feature. When the lid is opened a golden gilt wash is visible (the inside of the lid looks to have a sealant coating that has been applied and we mention this for accuracy - it does not detract from the item whatsoever). On the base hallmarks are visible for Birmingham 1925, along with the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver and the maker''s mark: Henry Clifford Davis. Rare and exquisite, this item would make a wonderful gift, great for a collector!
