A very fine example of an early 18thc Fruitwood turned Caster, used for sprinkling sugar, spices or pepper over food....this one has a rare shape, coming from the first quarter of the 18thc and I cannot find any further examples of this shape in the reference books on Treen....it has developed a very good colour and it has had minor restoration to small cracks to the top, as you would expect in a domestic item of this age.... so now it is in very good condition....a real collectors piece.
English C1720-40.
