Description

A lovely little antique stick pin (or scarf pin/lapel pin/tie pin/cravat pin) in the form of a crescent moon adorned with forget me nots and set with a tiny blue stone - which is likely sapphire but has not been tested.

Marked 15C, the terminal is made of richly coloured 15-carat gold and screws on (and off) the nine-carat gold pin. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

In excellent antique condition.

Size: 5.3cm long (just over two inches). The terminal measures approx 13 x 13mm.
