Description

A fine example of a mid 19thc ash stick back and elm seat Windsor chair c1860. The elm seat is full of antique character as it shows the grain, knots and gnarls in the wood, and has beautiful warm colour and patina. The pierced back is also made of elm. The hoop and stick back frame and arms are made of ash. The chair stand on an H frame stretcher with turned legs. The shape of the chair is slightly leaning, a result of being made by hand and antiqueness. In lovely condition, strong and sturdy.
