Derby Porcelain Vase, C. 1758.

18th century
Description

A rare Derby porcelain ‘Mazarine Blue’ vase, c. 1758. The vase, hand painted with a figure before a farm scene, within a shaped panel, edged in gilt floral scroll. The reverse, with a similar panel, painted with exotic birds. Further gilded sprays of flowers adorn the underglaze cobalt blue ground.

indication of patch marks to the base, and ground foot rim.

Medium: Porcelain

Height: 15.3 cm, 6”.

Width: 9.5 cm, 3 3/4”.

Condition: Tight hairline to the rim. Typical minor wear to the enamels, and gilding, commensurate with the age of the vase. Please see images for detail. No restoration.
