Description

I have never come across a pen wipe like this one in the form of a Cockerel or Rooster's head. Made from a very heavy cast brass or bronze, beautifully executed to show off the handsome plumage.

The top of his head is mounted with three pieces of felt-like fabric used to absorb the excess ink from a traditional dip pen, the fabric looks to be all original with some ink stain from usage.

The bird is blessed with two large and vibrant original glass eyes.

An exceptional and highly collectible Victorian desk accessory. Excellent condition, measuring 3 1/2" x 2 3/4" x 2 1/2" tall.
