A fine bronze sculpture of a gun dog with a duck resting by Paul Edouard Delabrierre. Fur finely chased and finished; standing on a naturalistic base featuring long blades of foliage scattered over rocky ground. Front corner of base signed in his tidy block script E DELABRIERRE and stamped ''1760 EV'' on the reverse side. Rich dark patina. Circa 1870
Delabrierre was born in Paris in 1829. Produced a varied collection almost exclusively focused on animal subjects in nature.
John Beazor Antiques is a family firm, established in 1875 and based in Cambridge since 1940. We are a traditional antiques shop, but very much in the 21st century. We deal in 18th and early 19th century furniture, barometers and clocks. We choose our stock for its originality and for the quality of its colour, patination and design.
We are members of the BADA. We do not exhibit at fairs preferring to deal from our Cambridge shop where we hold Open Weekends from time to time.
