1919 Zenith Pocket Watch and Chain

Antique Zenith pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, signed Zenith, which is working nicely. A nice quality movement with Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision and a cam disc regulator. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1919 along with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. Dennisons was a Birmingham based case maker who supplied various watch makers with cases. The case is in lovely condition and the engine turned detail to the back is in lovely crisp condition.

The watch glass is in lovely condition.

The dial has a scratch between 4 and 5 but otherwise is in good condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single silver chain, 33cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Each of the links has the silver mark. There is also a shorter chain attached, which originally was silver gilt but some of the gilding has worn off over the years, and a sheep charm. The chain and fob weigh 19g.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
