Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Royal Doulton began producing decorative ceramic figurines in the early twentieth century at their Burslem factory in Staffordshire. Designed by prominent artists, these hand-painted figures gained global recognition for depicting historical fashions, character studies, and stylized figures.

These figures are cast from bone china or earthenware slip in multi-part moulds. Once fired, skilled artisans apply underglaze details and hand-painted translucent enamel glazes before a final firing to set the lustre and finish.

Authentic pieces feature the printed Royal Doulton backstamp on the underside, often accompanied by an HN model number, the title of the piece, and occasionally the initials or mark of the individual decorator.

Positioning a porcelain statuette on a minimalist mantlepiece, shelf, or alongside books in a glazed cabinet allows its form and colour to act as a focused decorative accent without cluttering the space.

Dust figures regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or camel-hair brush. Avoid immersing items with delicate floral work in water, and never use abrasive chemicals or detergents on hand-painted glaze surfaces.
