Large Japanese Copper & Mixed Metal Vase Signed Atsumitsu

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large Meiji Period 1868-1912, copper and mixed metal vase by the artist Umeda Atsumitsu , his art name Ichiyosai , this highly skilled Kyoto based metalworker has started out with a sheet of copper that he has painstakingly beaten into a large copper vase, imagine the complexities and painstaking hours involved in this process alone, furthermore the artist has formed a large solid silver and mixed metal Egret of fine quality and laid it into the main body of the vase as the central feature, further decoration of foliage has been interspersed around the base of the vase to create a lakeside setting, the artist has signed the vase in a gilt seal to one side. A finely drawn unique and individual piece of hand beaten Meiji Period metal-ware that would light up any room setting or just sit well as part of your Japanese works of art collection.
