Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian blue and white transferware refers to earthenware produced in Britain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, decorated using copper-plate printing techniques. Cobalt blue pigment was transferred onto unglazed pottery using tissue paper before firing, enabling complex pictorial and floral patterns to be produced efficiently.

These pieces were typically made from pearlware or earthenware coated in a lead glaze. The blue decoration was achieved using cobalt oxide, which survived the high temperatures required during the firing process without losing colour intensity.

Authentic items often feature underglaze maker marks stamped or impressed on the base, minor variations in transfer seams where the paper pattern overlapped, and fine crazing in the lead glaze consistent with natural age.

A footed tureen works well as a decorative focal point on a dining room sideboard, inside a glazed display cabinet, or styled on a kitchen dresser alongside complementary ceramics.

Hand wash gently in warm water using a mild liquid soap, avoiding prolonged soaking or abrasive sponges. Do not place antique transferware in a modern dishwasher or microwave, as temperature shifts and harsh detergents can damage the glaze.
