ANTIQUE #SA869887

Pair Of Chinese Hexagonal Tea Bowls – Kangxi

£395    $500    €475
Pair of Chinese hexagonal shaped wine/tea cups decorated in underglaze blue. Dating from Kangxi period (1662 - 1722) - very small early export cups, typical of the period. Possibly made from Chinese soft paste since they are not as translucent as later pieces and have a slight creamy-white appearance. This was often used at the time for small pieces, allowing for very fine decoration. Both bases have a blue circle and a Fuku (good luck) symbol.

Condition: one has a very small base chip and rims are slightly worn - otherwise very good for age.
