Description

An early George V silver inlaid pique work tortoiseshell ring box with clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1912 and makers mark for Henry Clifford Davies. The lid also bears hallmarks. The tortoiseshell lid is inlaid with a silver pique design of an oval laurel wreath embellished with tasselled drapes. The tortoiseshell has a lovely luminous colour of ambers and browns, especially inside the lid. The silver box interior is lined with the original pale ear de nil silk, pleats and braid, with no apparent wear. The lid closes with a nice click. The box stand on three small fleur de lys feet. In excellent condition.
