Description

Dating to the early 19th century, around 1830 / 1835, this highly decorative box would be perfect for either a lady or gentleman either as a Jewellery box or perfect for desk-top storage.

The front and top has been skillfully inlaid with Maple, creating an outstanding design, there is a central Mother of Pearl cartouche inlaid to the lid.

The interior reveals a removable tray and the entire interior re-lined in a hand-marbelled paper, creating a clean and very usable interior.

The box comes complete with working tasselled key.

Excellent condition with a good French polished patina. Measuring 12" x 9" x 4 3/4".
