Description

A stunning example of a small trinket tray made by the famous English silversmith, Mappin & Webb, fully marked on the underside with the full hallmark for London 1915, 95 years old. The silver is beautifully finished with a raised foliate border.

The base is made from a gorgeous piece of tortoiseshell with stunning markings and colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown; the patina is bright and glossy. The shell is decorated with particularly pretty silver pique inlay in a ribbon and bow design, an absolute delight.

Excellent condition, measuring 5" x 3 1/4".
