This is an antique overmantle mirror. An Italian, triptych fireplace mirror, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Of fine proportion, suitable to mount above a fireplace

Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order

Cream ground accentuated with attractive flourishes of gilt finish

Late Victorian Italian overmantel mirrors combine Neoclassical revival elements with decorative details such as ribbon swags, rosettes, and fluted columns. Designed to rest above a fireplace mantel, these wide mirrors feature multi-panel configurations framed by painted gesso and giltwood moulding.
