Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The back comprises 3 pierced and inlaid splats. The back sweeps round to the serpentine arm supports and it stands on tapered legs culminating in spade feet. It has been newly recovered in a light grey/mushroom fabric. A comfortable and well-proportioned elegant piece that would make a great bedroom dressing table chair or desk chair. Stamped with a serial number “950” to the inside leg.
