Antique Early Victorian Mahogany Chiffonier Sideboard

An amazing condition original sideboard.

We are delighted to bring to you one of the finest examples of a rare early Victorian (circa 1840) chiffonier sideboard. The sideboard features its original ornate shaped shelf back with a shaped up-stand (often taken off or seperated over time). This sideboard also features a secret moulded top drawer and the finest flame grain book-matched Mahogany to the locking cupboard doors and lower plinth. Attached to either side of the Mahogany panel doors are its stunning opposed Barley twist mahogany pillars which make a bold statement.

This chiffonier is in an outstanding original condition featuring its original beautiful lightly faded french polished finish with a lovely rich mahogany colour. The sideboard also features fine quality turned knobs and brass keyhole escutcheon in front of its original working warded brass lock with its original key. The finely dovetailed solid ash drawer is smoothly operating with little to no drawer wear and very clean inside. Inside the cupboard are 2 removable shelves (meaning larger items could be placed inside) and the shelves are lipped with mahogany veneer to the front faces. We have just carefully cleaned and waxed this sideboard, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
