An unusual book box with secret compartment. Made from mahogany with satinwood inlay and very much in the Italian 'Sorrento' style. Dating to c1890-1910, this piece is well constructed with a removable front panel allowing the box to be opened.

In good condition but with slight age related wear, a couple of small marks to the wood and slight chipping to the satinwood inlay. A couple of small scratches in the wood.
