Pair of Staffordshire Saltglaze Stoneware Plates Circa 1760

Description

A pair of Staffordshire or Yorkshire saltglaze stoneware lobed plates, circa 1760, of dished form with foliate scrollwork and basketwork moulded in relief, with a central a medallion containing a squared pattern and surrounded by eight scrollwork panels containing a trellis diaper filled with dots and stars and an outer reticulated border of scrolls and basketwork.

One in perfect condition, the other with an 8.5cm long crack running from the rim to the edge of central medallion, however it is in stable condiiton.
