“ CHRIST THE GARDENER APPEARING TO MARY “
Mary returned to Jesus tomb and unaware of his resurrection met a man whom she believed was a gardener but in fact was the resurrected Christ.
This work is on canvas and has been relined around 1850 – it is very dirty and needs cleaning. The work is monogrammed DC lower right but we do not know who the painter is. Although still researching.

Condition: Generally very good for age – needs cleaning and some small retouching. We have a restorer who can quote for this if required. They would need the painting for about 10-14 days.
