Description

Very rare Scottish early Victorian figured mahogany longcase clock with a tapering fluted doric column tapering truck and demi octagonal paneled base with flat bun feet. The round dial enclosed in fancy circular hood with carved enrichments. The door to the case is at the side and lifts out with lock at bottom. The 8 day striking movement is fully restored and in perfect working order. The case is in very fine un-touched original condition and is a lovely palish colour with great waxed patina. Not many of this form of clocks were made and they are thought to be associated with the Scottish railway companies. This one is reputed to have been in Paisley Station.
