Description

A pretty Chamberlains porcelain coffee cup and saucer in the "New Gadroon Tournay" shape, c.1820. Ornate gilt design with very finely painted flowers in bright enamels and further flowers painted around the inside of the cup. Red printed mark to the base of both.

The cup measures 6.7cm (2 5/8") high and 7.7cm (3") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.5cm (5 11/16") wide and 2cm (3/4") high.

In very good condition with no damage or repair. Some stacking wear to the gilt near the centre of the saucer and very minor wear to the gilt on the rim. Minimal handling wear to the cup or the enamels. Some fine crazing to the reverse of the saucer.
