French Boulle Mantel Clock

Description

A fine quality French boulle tortoishell mantel clock. Red ground with brass boulle inlay. A front glazed panel with a visible Louis IV sunburst pendulum. Gilt bronze case mounts and surmounted by a finial. A gilt cast dial with individual enamel numeral cartouches and blued steel hands. Gilt side fretwork panels. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong by Vincenti. Circa 1890.
