Gravity Keyless Clock

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Antiques & Things

A clock like this, in this condition and at this price is not easy to find nowadays.
This is an early chromium model make in London c1925 by Watson & Co.
The mechanism derives its power as the weight of the clock descends down a notched ratchet in one of the pillars by the force of gravity.
It takes approximately 30 hours to fall from the top of the ratchet to the bottom. It then requires to be repositioned at the top.
It is in excellent condition and full working order.
