A lovely Regency penwork sewing pannier or box of unusual shape. Rather than being the more usual straight sided rectangular box the four vertical corner sides are curved which gives a lovely appearance to it.
It is decorated on all four sides with polychrome painting of flowers and leaves. This follows through on the swing handle as well.
On the hinged lid there is a print of the inside of Bettisons Library Margate.
The interior retains its original pink paper lining.
It measures 12.5cm w x 9cm d x 7cm h.
