The cabinet and stand are peg jointed throughout.
With replacement hinges for the original iron straps and later 18th century steel lock.
Good colour and condition throughout, usable and with a beautiful natural colour and aged patina.
A charming example from a time when spice such as nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves were as almost as expensive as gold and were kept in special boxes such as this under lock and key.
