Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
Sampson Mordan are the premier designers of exclusive top quality items and this pencil is no exception - it is most beautifully executed with engine turned decoration to the main body and is superbly balanced when held, it also has a covered eraser at the end.

It comes with its original box and papers.
The condition is quite remarkable and it looks as though it has hardly been used.
There is an inscription which reads NUNQUAM NON PARATUS when translated means Never Unprepared and is linked to the Johnston or Johnson Clan in Scotland.

It weighs an incredible 22 gramms and measures 115mm when fully opened. It is fully hallmarked.
This pencil certainly has that understated elegance that whispers class and would make a perfect gift.
This is a 100% genuine Sampson Mordan pencil not a copy, replica or reproduction.
