Penderyn Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The coffer is made from six planks with the shaped sides becoming the legs. A rather good example.

Item Ref; M-2821
DIMENSIONS:
Height – 61.5cm / Width – 133cm / Depth – 42cm
CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks to the top, front, and sides (pictured). There is some movement in the lid due to the original hinges still being present. There is a notch missing to the front of the lid and also to the back left hand side corner (pictured). Evidence of old historic woodworm in places - this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Overall, a good solid chest.
