A Rare Adelphi Theatre Edwardian Silver Vesta

A very rare and interesting memento of Edwardian silver. This wonderful silver vesta has a scene form 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' embossed to the front, with the title of the play above. On the reverse 'Adelphi Theatre 1906' is at the top and on the body, 'With Otho Stuart's compliments' is written. Otho Stuart was a famous actor/stage director, debuting in 1886 and dying in 1930. These wonderful pieces were sold over a number of years as fundraisers for Scott's Expeditions. An exceptionally rare vesta, with interesting Theatre and historical connections. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits.The lid closes well. There are three small dents to the top edge, commensurate with age and use.
