~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A beautiful antique French Baroque portico clock by Japy Frères, finely made in gilt bronze. The clock is supported by four stylised columns with Ionic capitals. The ormolu pendulum swings gently between the columns. Mythical creatures to each side support the urn finial to the top of the case.
The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of Japy Frères usual high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. The ormolu pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles to the cartouches next to the winding holes.

Dumoulinneuf, case maker's / retailers mark on the movement backplate. Dumoulinneuf is listed in 'Tardy, Dictionnaire des Horlogers Francais' as working in 1870.
Japy Freres clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate.
