Oak Guy's Hospital Coat of Arms Shield.

Description

This handsome coat of arms of Sir Thomas Guy, founder of the Guy's Hospital in London which is painted on tin with crowned leopard heads & fleur-de-lis is set on an English oak base and can be hung on a wall. There is a coat of arms like this located on the entrance gate of the historic part of the hospital complex.

The oak shield has two crowned leopard heads at the top and one at the bottom with three blue fleur-de-lis within a gold chevron.

A nice decorative piece.

Date: c1920.

Dimensions: 23 cm (9") Height. 17 cm (6 3/4") Width. 2 cm (3/4") Depth.

Condition: Very nice decorative antique condition with signs of use and wear with a wonderful look. Some scratches and wear to paint. No breaks or damage.

Please note that only the shield is included and any other items in the pictures are for scale only.
