Lovely Japanese early 19thC (Edo period) four-case lacquer inro depicting a mounted samurai on one side and monkey in a tree on the other. The exterior contains intricate lacquer work in gold maki-e on a black ground, while the interior is decorated in nashiji. Unsigned. Comes with a coral ojime.
