Antique Wall Clock

19th century
Description

A fine quality convex dial dropdial fusee wall clock. A narrow mahogany dial surround with a cast brass bezel and 12" dial. Brass inlay around the visible pendulum aperture. The original side carvings. Shaped shoulders to the fusee mechanism plates and a high quality pendulum. 8-day duration. Circa 1845.

Thomas Gath of Bristol is recorded in A J Moores' 'The Clockmakers of Bristol' book as workingfrom 1840's to 1885. A clock is noted in the Bristol Museum.
