Description

Superb carved lindenwood Black Forest bear hallstand c.1900. A fine example with a large bear at the base of a tree in the branches of which sits a smaller bear cub. Branches of the tree carved to form hooks for hats and coats. Supporting the original oval mirror with bevelled edge and a frame carved with oak leaves and smaller hooks. Also with a carved wooden hoop for sticks and umbrellas with a metal drip tray in the base. Particularly well carved larger bear with glass eyes and painted detail to the mouth. Presented as found in very good original condition. Disassembles into two pieces plus mirror for delivery.
