Description

Very large solid silver rat tail pattern canteen for 12 place settings, made by Mappin & Webb and hallmarked Sheffield 1909. This canteen is quite comprehensive having mother of pearl handled fruit eaters and bone handled fish eaters, both with silver blades etc.
The original oak box has its key and the lock still works. The canteen also has 4 serving pieces and it is a one date and maker canteen, with the exception of one replacement bone handled knife with steel bade.
