French Silver Photograph Frame

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb French silver photograph frame Circa 1925.

Marked to the back Maquet, Paris-Nice. Maisonette Maquet were known for their top quality items.

French silver marks to bottom edge.

To the front is the coat of arms for the Fox Gifford Family. Sir Gifford Wheaton Grey Fox 2nd Baronet was a British Politician, he succeeded his father Gilbert Fox as a Baronet of Liverpool, Lancashire. The Baronetcy became extinct in 1959.

The rose in the coat of arms is obviously the red rose of Lancashire and the edge of the frame is decorated with roses on all sides.

This is a real quality frame.
