A charming Mahogany Ladies Duchess dressing table.
We are offering this excellent condition original late Victorian circa 1880 Mahogany Ladies vanity duchess dressing table, made by the maker 'ABBA BROS CABINET MAKERS AND UPHOLSTERERS HULL' as stamped on the side of the drawer.
We have just enhanced this item by cleaning and carefully waxing this item to give a natural lustrous sheen and preserve and protect the item.
This dressing table features a carved top filigree to the curved and moulded mirror frame complete with its original bevel edge mirror glass (has some minor pitting to the top edge) with the original working tilting mechanism which is supported by ornately carved up-stands. These up-stands stand on top of the double jewellery drawer base which is affixed to the top. The break-front shaped top has 1 deep drawer for makeup/jewellery and all the drawers feature their original solid brass plate dropper handles. The unit stands on a double turned pillar which stands on a lower shaped open base with 2 more simple back support legs.
Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there, for example, the original mirror is in fantastic condition for its age, however, will still have imperfections due to its age. We feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character.
