Antique Elgin pocket watch, 1896.

The watch has a signed seven jewel stem-winding gilt movement, grade 104, which is working nicely. This grade was in production from 1888 until 1897, the movement in this watch has the serial number 6355576 which dates it back to 1896. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14k gold filled JAS Boss case from the Keystone Watch Case Company, and unusually it still has the original paperwork within the case back. The case is in lovely condition, just a small dent on the back, towards the winding crown.

The acrylic lens is in lovely condition.

The dial has its original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. If viewed through a magnifying loupe, there is a short very faint hairline by the subsidiary seconds dial, and a small chip to the edge of the dial which is covered by the bezel.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
