A fine and atmospheric oil on canvas alpine vista by Clement Castelli 1870-1959. A great work with bold and confident composition, use of colour and observation of light. Vallee du Trient’ and the artist’s personal stamp. Clement Castelli was born in 1870 in Premia, Italy. He moved to Paris in 1880, and studied under Jules Adler and Léon Bellemont. Castelli spent most of his career painting mountains in the French Alps, in Italy, and in Switzerland and was a member of the Mountain Painters Society. He exhibited his works for many years at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants and at the Salon des Artistes Français.
