A Large Late 17th Century Repousse Wine Cooler.

Description

A large late 17th century copper repousse wine cooler, French or Italian. The wine cooler is heavily decorated and has a superb broze patina , with rolling foliage and birds with a satyre mask on one side and a seated figure with a chalice surround by grape vines on the other.

The wine cooler has two large carrying handles which are finely rolled and riveted.

Overall the cooler is in good condition for its age with a number of old solder repairs.
