In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It can be adjusted in height by spinning the seat around to move it up or down.
It is in good condition for its age. The revolving mechanism runs smoothly with very minimal give side to side and when extended upwards the stool is very stable. The wood is free from any major knocks or splits and is overall a sturdy construction. There are some small marks and minor knocks but nothing detrimental. It displays well and is certainly a very usable piece.
