Antique Waltham Traveler pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding Traveler grade movement which is working nicely. The movement has gilded plates and a Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision. The movement is fully signed, and the serial number 11,572,624 dates it back to 1902.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has details of the original retailer of the watch, H W Bedford & Co Ltd, 6 Cheapside, London EC. H W Bedford was listed as a watchmaker and jeweller, and also an agent for Waltham watches, possibly a relation of Albert Bedford who was the manager of Waltham UK.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Continental marks inside both of the case backs. The case is in good condition for such an early piece, just the odd small mark.

The acrylic lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial is in beautiful condition, and it has its original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a later single silver chain, 34cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. There is also a small silver fob, hallmarked for 1922. The chain and fob weigh 30g.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
