Description

Tall mid 19th.c. Gothic revival oak bookcase c.1850. Standing very nearly 8½ feet tall. In two sections, glazed top and bottom with four adjustable shelves in the top (depth 7½") and two adjustable shelves in the base (depth 8½”). Unusual shaped crenelations to the cornice, pointed arch glazing with a moulded and gilded surround and carved spandrels and a pointed arch to the pilasters either side of the doors top and bottom. Thumb moulded waist and raised on a slim plinth. Solid oak sides. Some minor old wear but generally very good colour and condition retaining the original lining fabric. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
