Antique Lantern Clock

Description

An English Lantern clock from the early 18th century. A well engraved dial centre to the single hand layout chapter ring. A full length pendulum converted from Verge escapement. Rope drive with lead weight. Hourly bell striking. A later wall hanging bracket.

John Green of London is recorded in Baillies' 'Clockmakers and Watchmakers of The World' book as working after 1704 and being free of the Clockmakers Company in 1712. A sheep's head clock is noted as being made.
