Description

An early 20th century Anglo Indian Star Tortoise carapace trinket box inlaid with ebony, mahogany and satinwood, the carapace hinged to reveal the inlaid interior and a concealed compartment with ebony lid. The lid has e recessed lock. Excellent condition. There are three small holes to the underside indicating this could have once housed a musical mechanism. A rare and unusual trinket/jewellery box. 11 inches long. No key.
