Antique French Lantern Clock

18th century
Description

A French lantern clock with a chapter ring and a well engraved dial centre. Cherubs and bird cast design at the top of the dial. A blued steel single hand with quarter hour divisions to the chapter ring. A steel and brass mechanism with decorative hammer and spring work. A twin brass cased weight driven 30 hour mechanism with full length pendulum. An oak wall bracket mounting. Hourly and half hour strike to the bell.

A good example of an 18th century Lantern clock.
