Description

A very nice Derby porcelain coffee can with distinctive pixie ear shape handle unique to this factory. Finely painted in shaded enamels in red and purple of stylised leaves alternating with frondy gilt foliage in a gilt framed frieze. Gilt band around the foot and rim and repeating acanthus motifs along the back and top of the handle with further gilding to the edges. Red painted mark to the base, c.1815 and gilder's number 44.

It measures 7cm (2 3/4") high to the handle and 6.5cm (2 5/8") rim to rim.

In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minor gilt wear to the rim.
