Quality Victorian Silver Inkwells and Stand

19th century
Description

This is a really excellent heavy Standish.

The tray and inkwells are all marked for London 1895 by top silversmith John Grinsell & Sons.

The date mark on the tray is rubbed but still readable. All the assay marks match.

At some point this has been retailed in Rome, Italy see pictures of the original label.

There are no chips to the inkwells, in one of them there is evidence of ink around the top. There are indentations around the base of each one which were done at the time of manufacture.

Tray measures 24 x 10.5 cms

Tray weighs 8.20 ozs

The inkwells H 7 cm W 6 cm
