A Rare Georgian Silver Bucellas Wine Label

Description

A wonderful and rare silver Bucellas wine label from the early 19th Century. This excellent example is of rectangular form with clipped corners and a reeded border. 'Bucellas' is engraved to the centre in 'pricked' capitals. The label is supported on a belcher chain. The name Bucellas dates from C1796-1897 and was a district near Lisbon that produced a popular white wine. Hallmarked in 1826 this is a fine example making this a interesting and collectable piece.
